In three sentences or less tell us a little bit about yourself.
I moved to Denver in 1996 and have embraced all it has to offer every since! Passionate about real estate and architecture, I love assisting my clients sell, buy and build properties. I am a social gal, who thrives on making connections, and enjoying life!
Tell us a little bit about how you got started in real estate.
The first realtor I met in Denver became a very close friend. He helped me buy and sell my first home and I assisted him for a while where he taught me a ton about the business-like how important it is to stay in touch, make close connections, respond quickly, and if you don't know an answer, ask someone who does. He had a connection with a new home builder where I worked in sales for a couple of years. There, I learned how a home is built from the ground up, became more educated about sustainable building practices, obtained my Green Build Certification and then decided to get my resale real estate license. As I have always loved homes and architecture, was great in sales and negotiating, I knew this was for me! I have a strong background and degrees in performance, film, TV and communications, and have brought the fun and enthusiasm into my real estate career.
What are your areas of expertise?
Currently I have been assisting with new build in-fill projects. Procuring land, helping builders with their developments and sales. I am also an expert in my neighborhood, with a pulse on the local market activity and help many sell and purchase homes. SO assisting sellers, investors, builders and buyers are all in my wheelhouse.
What are some of your favorite things to do when you aren't helping clients buy or sell real estate?
We have the best weather in CO and I am always on the go: hiking, biking, snowboarding, snowshoeing, dog walks, hot springs... I practice mindful living and am a big Yogi. Also am a big fan of all the amazing entertainment, live music and performance Denver offers! And I do a bit of singing here and there.
What are some of your favorite architectural styles?
Tough one. I LOVE Modern Contemporary new builds, and Mid-Century Modern homes. Scandinavian design, Minimalistic too. A big fan of Frank Lloyd Wright and the Craftsman style of harmonizing materials with the surroundings. But as I live in a turn-of-the- century home in an historic neighborhood, I adore Queen Anne's, Italianate, Denver Squares, Classic and Dutch Revival.
What would you be doing if you were not helping people buy or sell real estate?
Developing projects and building beautiful homes!
If you could meet anyone living or dead, who would it be?
This list could be very long! Having recently watched this years' Grammys, today I'd have to say Joni Mitchell. She really has looked at life from both sides now, and I'd love to sit and speak with her.
What advice do you have for anyone looking to sell or buy right now?
To work with a trusted real estate professional. There are so many facets of a real estate transaction that hiring someone who knows the business and can walk you through each step is crucial.
Lastly, what is your favorite thing about working in real estate?
The people. Helping others, making new connections, sharing my expertise. So incredibly gratifying. And that every deal is different. Never a dull day!
